By downloading or using BetterHalve ("the app"), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

Use of the App

BetterHalve is a personal finance tool for tracking shared expenses between two people. You must be at least 13 years of age to use the app.

You agree to use the app only for its intended purpose and not to misuse, reverse-engineer, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the service or its underlying systems.

Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity that occurs under it. BetterHalve uses Google Sign-In and Sign in with Apple for authentication — we do not store passwords.

You are responsible for the accuracy of the financial data you enter. BetterHalve does not verify, audit, or provide financial advice based on your data.

Household Data

When you connect with a partner, both members of a household can view, add, edit, and delete shared data. You accept that your partner has equal access to all household expenses, settlements, and settings.

You are solely responsible for any disputes arising from shared financial data between you and your partner.

Intellectual Property

All content, design, code, and branding within BetterHalve is the property of Luke Beretta. Nothing in these terms grants you any rights to use the BetterHalve name, logo, or other brand assets.

The data you enter into the app remains yours. We claim no ownership over your expense records or financial information.

Disclaimer of Warranties

BetterHalve is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that any data will be preserved indefinitely.

BetterHalve is not a financial institution, accountant, or financial adviser. Nothing in the app constitutes financial advice.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Luke Beretta shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of or inability to use the app, including any loss of data.

Termination

You may stop using the app and delete your account at any time via Settings. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the app for any reason, including violation of these terms.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of South African courts.

Changes

These terms may be updated from time to time. Significant changes will be noted with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
